While there is no sign of FCA planning to build a Ram pickup with the supercharged Hellcat Hemi, a dealership in Ontario, Canada has built a Hellcat-powered pickup truck for one of their customers – complete with 707 horsepower, four wheel drive and a unique body upgrades.

The “old” Chrysler Corporation offered the high performance Dodge Ram SRT10 from 2004 through 2006 with the same V10 engine as the Dodge Viper SRT10. After setting so many records with the V10 Ram ten years ago, Dodge helped build the go-fast truck community and with the arrival of the Hellcat Challenger and Charger – there are people calling for a Hellcat Ram.

Although there have been rumors of a Hellcat Ram coming to production at some point, there has never been any official word on such a project. However, one Canadian Dodge dealership has made the Hellcat Ram come to life for one of their customers – and the outcome appears to be just as incredible as you would expect.

The Hellcat Ram 1500
The Hellcat Ram 1500 was built by Midland Chrysler in Midland, Ontario, Canada for one of their customers. The project began with Midland buying a Hellcat crate engine from a dealership in South Carolina last year and once the factory 5.7L Hemi was removed – the dealership began the long process of making the Hellcat work in the Ram.

After what was surely a wiring headache, the dealership was able to mount the Hellcat Hemi in the Ram 1500 with the standard 8-speed automatic transmission and the factory four wheel drive system. Best of all, the dealership was able to maintain function of all of the factory electronics inside and out, so this truck works like a stock Ram 1500 – with a 707 horsepower supercharged engine.

In addition to sorting out the wiring issues, the dealership also had to apply a body lift so that the Hellcat Hemi would fit under the hood of the Ram 1500. The Hellcat Hemi is considerably taller than the 5.7L Hemi in the Ram, so rather than changing the hood – they applied a slight lift to the truck. To create a sportier stance, they do plan to change to lowered suspension in the future to even out the body lift.

Finally, in addition to the Hellcat Hemi and the body lift, this Ram 1500 has unique wheels and a strip package which includes Hellcat logos on the bedsides and on the hard tonneau cover. There are also Hellcat head badges on the front fenders, similar to the Challenger and Charger.
The result of this build is a modern Ram 1500 pickup with four wheel drive and a 707 horsepower, supercharged Hemi V8. All of that power being funneled to all four wheels likely makes traction less of a problem, but I am interested to learn how the factory Ram transmission and four wheel drive components will handle that massive power.

According to R&T, this build cost around $90,000 out the door, which is a big chunk of change, but for someone who really wants a Ram 1500 with the 707hp Hellcat Hemi – Midland Chrysler seems to have the best solution right now.
