Every 2017 Camaro Increases by $605, 50th Anniversary Package Priced

Unofficial pricing for the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro has hit the internet and based on the leaked dealership information, every trimline for the new model year will cost $605 more than they do for the current (2016) Camaro lineup.

According to the folks from Cars Direct, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro order guide indicates that every trimline in both coupe and convertible form will cost $605 more than they did in 2016. There is no mention of new standard features to offset that price increase, so it seems like GM might have made the odd decision to raise the price of the slow-selling 6th generation Camaro.

2017 Camaro Pricing
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LT coupe is expected to cost $605 more than the 2016 version, so the least expensive 6th gen Camaro now starts at $27,300 with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, a manual transmission and applicable destination fees while the more heavily appointed 2LT with the turbo 4 starts at $31,400. In convertible form, the 2017 Camaro 1LT with the 4-cylinder engine starts at $34,300 and the 2LT model starts at $38,400.

Stepping up to the 2017 Camaro 1LT with the V6 engine with the manual transmission will now set you back $28,795 and in 2LT form, the V6 Camaro will cost you $32,895 during the 2017 model year. The drop-top V6 Camaro for 2017 starts at $35,795 and the 2LT convertible with the V6 starts at $39,895.

Finally, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 1SS coupe starts at $37,900, the Camaro 2SS coupe starts at $42,900, the Camaro 1SS convertible starts at $44,900 and the Camaro 2SS convertible starts at $51,900.

The 8-speed automatic transmission will add $1,495 to all of the prices above, regardless of the 2017 Camaro trimline chosen.

50th Anniversary Edition Camaro Pricing
While we don’t have pricing for the 2017 Camaro 1LE or ZL1 just yet, we do have pricing for the new 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro. The “Fifty” package is available in 2LT or 2SS form, and it has unique pricing for each. On the Camaro 2LT, the 50th Anniversary Edition package costs $2,595, but it requires you to also get the Convenience and Lighting package, which also adds $2,800 – for a final package price of $5,395 for the 2LT package.

On the better appointed Camaro 2SS, the 50th Anniversary Package adds less features so it costs a bit less, taking just $1,795 to the bottom line of the V8 models.

In the end, the Camaro 2LT 50th Anniversary Edition with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a manual transmission starts at $36,795 while the V6 models start at $38,290. The 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro 2SS starts at $44,695.

With Camaro sales being far below what many people expected when the new generation arrived, it comes as a bit of a surprise that GM has opted to raise prices for the 2017 model year. However, the 50th Anniversary Edition package is surprisingly inexpensive – especially in V8 form – so I expect to see a ton of the “Fifty” Camaros sold for the 2017 model year.

Picked up my 50 anniversary 2SS in Jan. Does any one know how to find out the total number of cars this trim line has produced?
