Callaway has issued the first teaser of their upcoming supercar based on the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and while the details right now are very limited – we know that this beast will pack a supercharged version of the C7 Stingray’s new LT1 V8.

Callaway Cars announced last week that they were the first company to work with the new General Motors Direct Injection engines which included the new LT1 V8 that powers the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Yesterday afternoon, a representative of Callaway Cars posting on the enthusiast site CorvetteForum.com offered up the first teaser image of the Callaway C7 Corvette – giving us a first look at what will likely spend some time being the most powerful C7 Corvette package available. Callaway hasn’t offer up any power estimates but the company has promised to deliver “a supercharged package with breathtaking power, bulletproof durability and 50-state emission compliance”.

Needless to say, many people are probably wondering just what kind of power we can expect from Callaway’s first attempt at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. While that is completely unknown right now, we can take some hints from the currently available Callaway C6 Corvette and guess that it is going to be a real monster. The current Callaway Corvette SC606 is based on the 2013 Corvette “base” model which means that it is powered by the 6.2L LS3 V8 which, in stock form, makes 430 horsepower. After Callaway is done adding all of their goodies (including a supercharger), the power output jumps up to 606 horsepower. That is an increase of 176 horsepower – or roughly 41%. Should Callaway be able to squeeze similar gains (in terms of percentage) with the C7 Stingray, it would pack somewhere in the area of 642 horsepower. The current Callaway SC606 can hit 60 from a stop in just 3.4 seconds while dashing down the quarter mile in 11 seconds flat. The current ZO6-based Callaway SC652 packs 652 horsepower and can hit 60 in 3.3 seconds with a quarter mile time of 10.8 seconds. Provided that Callaway is able to get up into the 640 horsepower range with their blown C7 it could very well dip into the mid 1 second range. That could be enough oomph to best just about everything on the street…including the current Corvette ZR1 and the SRT Viper.

What we do know is that the hood teaser of the new 2014 Callaway Corvette looks pretty awesome – with the supercharger sticking up through the unique hood. When the rep from Callaway posted on CorvetteForum.com, he repeatedly mentioned the upcoming 2013 Corvettes at Carlisle show so perhaps the start of that Pennsylvania event later this week will bring about more information or more images of the new Callaway Super Vette.

In addition to building an ultra high performance version of the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Callaway is currently in the process of homologating the new Corvette C7 GT3 race car for racing purposes around the world. Callaway has also introduced their new Callaway AeroWagon Concept that takes the C7 Stingray Coupe and turns it into a funky “shooting brake” that offers superior aerodynamics – with the result being a custom Corvette Stingray that will be able to hit 200 miles per hour in street-driven form.
