The first issue of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray build page has arrived on Chevrolet.com and while the new configurator obviously isn’t fully finished – it is complete enough to give us a detailed look at the packages, options and prices for the C7 Corvette.

From a functionality standpoint, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray configuration pages appear to be ready for prime time but when you head over to the site to build your dream C7, you will notice that there are no exterior images. Instead, there is the obvious silhouette of the new Corvette in grey with “Image available soon” underneath and this is the case for both the 2014 Stingray coupe and convertible build pages. However, every other aspect is up and running including detailed interior pictures for each trim package, color choices inside and out, wheel choices and an extensive individual option list for the convertible – with prices for everything.

As is the case with the Camaro build pages, the 2014 Corvette Stingray has a separate page for the coupe and the convertible but the two are very similar shy of the fact that one of them doesn’t have a roof…which you cannot see just yet since there are no exterior images. The pricing for the C7 coupe starts at $51,995 for the “base” 1LT package with 2LT starting at $56,205 and 3LT starting at $60,000 even. For the new C7 Stingray coupe equipped with the Z51 handling package, the 1LT setup starts at $54,795, 2LT starts at $59,005 and the top of the line 3LT with the Z51 package starts at $62,800. For the 2014 Corvette convertible, prices for each of the six trimlines are exactly $5,000 more than the same trimline for the C7 coupes. All of the pricing in this article includes the $995 destination fee.

Regardless of the package chosen, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray configurator for both the coupe and convertible offers ten different exterior color options with six being “free” (Black, Arctic White, Torch Red, Blade Silver Metallic, Cyber Grey Metallic and Night Race Blue Metallic) while the other four include an upcharge as part of the premium color lineup. Laguna Blue, Velocity Yellow and Crystal Red will all add $995 to the final price while Lime Rock Green Metallic adds just $495. Whether or not the Z51 package is selected, the Corvette 1LT comes with three interior color options while 2LT offers seven choices and 3LT Corvette come with nine different interior color schemes. Also, while the wheel options vary between those Corvettes equipped with the Z51 package and those which are not – each trim package offers a choice of three different wheels that are all essentially the same wheels with different finishes.

After you pick your trim package, exterior and interior colors and the wheel choice you move onto the options list and this is another area where the C7 Corvette build page is not quite complete. While there is a long list of options for the new Stingray convertible including things like Magnetic Selective Ride Control ($1,795 and only available on Z51 models), the 6-speed paddle shifted automatic transmission ($1,350), performance exhaust ($1,195), Competition seats ($2,495) and a frenzy of exterior dress up options like stripes, wheel center caps with the Stingray logo and unique accent colors – there are no options listed for the 2014 Corvette coupe. Fortunately, I would expect that a great many of the options for the C7 convertible will be offered for the coupe as well once the build page is running at full power.

The fact that there are no options (as this piece is published) for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe prevents us from accurately pricing out our dream C7 hard top but we are able to see just how high the price CAN get for the C7 convertible. If you build a 2014 Stingray convertible 3LT with the Z51 package in Crystal Red with the chrome wheel option, the price sits at $70,790 before any individual options are added. When you add the essentials like Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Performance Exhaust and the Competition Sport bucket seats, the price climbs to $76,275 while adding non-functional goodies like red painted brake calipers, carbon fiber interior trim and a Corvette cargo area mat – the price rises to $77,475. However, if all you are really worried about is performance, you can opt for the 2014 Corvette convertible with the 1LT/Z51 setup in one of the standard colors, with standard wheels, the Magnetic Ride Control system and performance exhaust for “only” $62,785 and with the incomplete coupe pricing running around $5,000 less than the droptop – a similarly equipped C7 coupe with all of the go-fast essentials should ring in for roughly $57,785.

Of course, with the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray build page obviously not being complete, prices and feature availability could change but this early configurator allows prospective buyers and dreamy-eyed hopefuls a chance to see just how much it would cost to acquire their ideal C7.
