Since the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was introduced before Detroit’s Woodward Dream Cruise, the popular topic of discussion has shifted to the pricing of the world’s most powerful 4-door sedan so using what we know of 2014 Charger pricing, 2014 Challenger pricing and 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat pricing – I offer you my estimates of what I expect to show up on the bottom line of the 707hp Charger’s monroney.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will hit the market next year as the most powerful 4-door car sold in the world. There is no full scale automotive manufacturer in the world building a sport sedan that offers more power and there is no 4-door production sedan in the world that will rival the Hellcat Charger’s 11.0 quarter mile time or the 204 mile per hour top speed. However, the Charger SRT Hellcat is competing with some of the most expensive sport sedans in the world so many prospective consumers are concerned that it will be incredibly expensive.

Fortunately, the pricing models for the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat offer an idea as to what we can expect to see on the window sticker of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat when it hits dealerships next year.

Pricing of the 2014 Models
When you look at the pricing of the 2014 Dodge Charger and 2014 Dodge Challenger across all comparable trimlines, the bigger Charger is more expensive across the two model lineups. The Charger SXT starts at $29,695 and the Charger SXT Plus starts at $31,695 while the Challenger SXT starts at $26,495 and the Challenger SXT Plus starts at $28,995. The Charger R/T starts at $30,695 and the Charger R/T Plus starts at $32,695 while the Challenger R/T starts at $30,495 and the Challenger R/T Plus starts at $32,495. Finally, when you look at the 2014 Dodge Charger SRT in the “base” Super Bee form, it starts at $44,385 and the premium Charger SRT8 starts at $47,385 while the Challenger SRT Core starts at $40,485 and the current top of the line Challenger SRT8 starts at $45,685.

To summarize, the SXT Charger is $3,200 more than the SXT Challenger and when you step up to the SXT Plus package for both, the Charger is still $2,700 more. When comparing the 2014 Charger and Challenger powered by the 5.7L Hemi, the Charger costs only $200 more in both R/T and R/T Plus trim than the comparable Challenger. For those who want the 6.4L Hemi, the “base” SRT Charger will cost you $3,900 more than the Challenger SRT Core while the two top of the line models placed side to side have the 4-door model starting some $1,700 higher than the muscular coupe. When you do the math, these six common trimlines have an average price difference between the Charger and Challenger of about $1,983.

2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat Pricing with the 4-Door Markup
Per the Frederick Scat Pack website, the price of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with the 6-speed manual transmission with Gas Guzzler Tax and destination fees starts at $61,053 while the 707hp Challenger with the 8-speed automatic transmission starts at $62,636. The Charger SRT Hellcat will not be equipped with the manual transmission so the least expensive option will come with the new 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

In terms of standard features, I expect to see very few differences between the Hellcat Challenger and the Hellcat Charger with the same brakes, the same drivetrain, the same suspension setup, the same high end leather seats and the same level of infotainment gadgetry. Based on the Challenger’s official dealership MSRP (including Gas Guzzler and destination) of $62,636 and the average difference from the 2014 model year between the Challenger and the Charger, I expect that the 707hp Charger will cost around $2,000 more than the comparable 707hp Challenger.

If that proves to be the case, the world’s most powerful sport sedan – the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – will carry an official MSRP between $64,000 and $65,000. That is a whole lot of money for a Dodge Charger, but considering that this is the most powerful, the fastest and the quickest stock production sedan in the world, $65,000 really isn’t all that bad of a deal.

Of course, there is a chance that the Charger SRT Hellcat will have a smaller price hike from the comparable Challenger, but even in the absolute best case scenario – expect the 707hp Charger to have a start price of at least $63,000 with Gas Guzzler and destination.
