The Dodge Viper has been out of production for over a year but after watching the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, the Porsche 911 GT2 and the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition bump the Viper from the top spot, Chrysler’s SRT division headed back out to the famous German race course with stunning results as the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR ran a lap of just 7:12.13 – easily putting the Viper back atop the list of the fastest production vehicles around “the ‘Ring”.

Toyota’s production of 2012 cars and trucks for sale in the United States and Canada is at 100% and recovery from the March 11 quake in Japan has exceeded expectations, an executive for the Japanese car company told reporters in Los Angeles today.

The slump at Lexus is over. The luxury marque sold 10,331 cars last month, an uptick of 6.2% over the same period last year. The ES 350 (pictured), Lexus's entry luxury sedan, was the Japanese company's best-selling car (3,887). Another big boost: Lexus moved 3,238 hybrids in August, an increase of 56.1% over 2010.

Last Friday we brought you the breaking news that the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition had once again taken to the track from which it derives its name with record-setting results and we now have positive confirmation from the luxury automaker that their LFA supercar indeed set the production car record with an incredible time of just 7:14.64.

So it makes sense that the luxury car marque sponsored the Pebble Beach Food Wine Festival, where celeb chefs Daniel Boulud, Michael Chiarello, Dean Fearing, Christopher Kostow, Masaharu Morimoto and Michael Symon performed demonstrations for about 200 guests.
