2012 Infiniti FX gets a facelift with 20-inch wheels and more

The vehicle that perhaps best embodies the crossover concept, the 2012 Infiniti FX will come to market with a facelift among other enhancements for 2012. Other visual upgrades include new 20-inch wheels and a considerably updated instrument cluster. In addition, a Limited Edition of only 550 special Infiniti FX 35s will be built for American sale.

The FX35 Limited Edition will come in an exclusive Iridium Blue exterior tint with unique 21-inch 10-spoke graphite-finish aluminum wheels and V-rated all-season tires. Striking dark-tinted headlights with Adaptive Front lighting System plus auto-leveling and complimentary dark side vents and lower door trim.

Other equipment on the Limited Edition consists of aluminum roof rails and crossbars with a graphite finish, aluminum pedals and singular graphite floormats with contrasting blue piping. The FX35 LE will also feature an Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System, Around View Monitor (AVM) and considerably more as standard equipment. Just 550 of the FX35 Limited Edition models, with Infiniti's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System, will be produced for U.S. consumption.

Pricing will range from $43,450 for the Infiniti FX35 RWD to $59,350 for the Infiniti FX50 AWD. The Limited Edition FX35 AWD is listed at $51,550.

Each and every 2012 FX will also feature the new, COMPLIMENTARY Infiniti Personal Assistant, providing new owners with unlimited 24-hour access to a live team of professional assistants. Accessible through your mobile phone, callers can ask for answers or assistance on a plethora of topics and tasks, including directory assistance and driving directions, weather forecasts, dining suggestions and reservations, travel arrangements, emergency assistance and much more.

Infiniti is the first automotive manufacturer to offer this kind of service nationwide in the U.S. The Infiniti Personal Assistant is offered gratis for the first four years of ownership.

The 2012 Infiniti FX provides the choice of a 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine with Variable Valve Event & Lift or a 303-horsepower 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 engine. Both engines connect to a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control. Solid magnesium paddle shifters are available on the FX50.

2012 models will also come with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (optional except on the FX50), double-wishbone front/multi-link rear suspension and large 4-wheel disc brakes, plus available Continuous Damping Control , Rear Active Steer and Intelligent Brake Assist.

Inside the 2012 FX you find Infiniti’s signature driver-oriented cockpit, available sport seating and advanced audio, navigation and technology – ranging from a Bose 11-speaker audio system to the an intelligent key, cruise control and Around View Monitor system, making any hazards near the car obvious.
Also included is the expected array of alphabet soup technology systems, including Distance Control Assist (DCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) and Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW).
