The Jaguar XJ was awarded International Luxury Car of the Year at the 2011 International Car of the Year awards. It benefits from improved aerodynamics and an innovative lightweight aluminum design, offering weight reduction of up to 330 lbs over other materials. This further results in enhanced economy, emissions, driving dynamics and agility.

To further enhance the exhilarating open road aspects of its nature, the XJ now has optional Sport and Speed Packs that invoke the true potential of the XJ, both aesthetically and dynamically. Both optional packages feature both exterior and interior elements that emphasize and assert the vehicle’s high-performance DNA.

Sport and Speed Packs
In both packs, functional airflow changes increase in the top speed from 155 mph to 174 mph, a result of extensive track and wind tunnel research. The front end gains a splitter below the bumper to reduce lift, and a rear lip spoiler has been added to ensure crisp separation of air from the trailing edge of the body. These enhancements don’t impact the 0.29Cd aerodynamic figure of the XJ yet ensure optimal stability at high-speed. The design changes that comprise the Sport and Speed Packs are not cosmetic but allow the Jaguar XJ to increase top speed, transforming the supercharged XJ models into the fastest sedans the company has ever built.

These changes have been accessorized with a number of cosmetic additions clearly distinguishing those so equipped from other models. The bold Jaguar grille gains a gloss black mesh finish with the same treatment applied to the lower air opening and side vents.

A pack specific alloy wheel design is included with red brake calipers behind each 20-inch wheel. Reflecting the exterior changes and befitting its performance oriented enhancements, interior changes give the driver a heightened sense of the dynamic abilities available.

The Jaguar XJ Supercharged Sport & Speed Packs add new sport seats with contrasting red stitching and a suedecloth headliner. Trimmed in soft grain leather with a wide adjustment range including power bolsters, the seat makes it easy to find your optimal driving posture. Active ventilation supplies heated or cool air to both front seat. Machined stainless steel pedals engraved with the Jaguar name await you slightest command.

The Sport and Speed Packs emphasize the sporting character and driver engagement comprising the core strengths of the 2012 Jaguar XJ model. The considerable power available from the supercharged V8 engine needed only a recalibrated management system to unlock the additional speed.

"A car capable of 174 mph must have certain basic attributes – stability, aerodynamics, prodigious power and as little weight as possible, said Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, Jaguar Cars. “The XJ is blessed with all these qualities in abundance and with the addition of the Speed Pack it becomes an ever more impressive performance sedan."
