When you think about it, there must be a reason that Ford continues to be the leader in pickup truck sales year after year. Indeed, the automaker just eclipsed its mark when it set a new record for sales by being the leader for the 46th year. Imagine that! The Ford F-Series of pickups is the once and future leader even as others try to make themselves the leader. Of course, there’s the Chevy lineup of trucks, and then there’s the RAM series. And, while these trucks are good contenders, they are still behind Ford again this year.

Heavy Duty Does The Work Reliability

Earlier this week, we mentioned this as the Ford Super Duty heavies won the J.D. Power 2024 U.S Vehicle Dependability Study plaudits. This is based on feedback from owners after three years of ownership. This is why the 2021 Super Duty line was named the most dependable, sizeable, heavy-duty pickup in the 2024 Power Dependability Survey.

“Every day, F-Series trucks are put to the test to get the job done, whether it be work or recreation,” said Tim Baughman, general manager, North America, Ford Pro. “Like all Ford trucks, Super Duty is Built Ford Tough. It’s more than a moniker for us; it’s our purpose. We are proud to receive this important recognition. It means we are building dependable trucks our customers can rely on.”

Indeed, not 30 yards from our front door, a Super Duty is continually pushed and pushed hard. Whether driving a plow, pushing aside winter’s nasty blows, or going off-site here to tend to problems, the Super Duty continues to come through for the many apartments in this housing complex.

Continues To Provide The Work As Needed

Indeed, the Super Duty lineup continues to work across many segments as owners keep their pickups far longer than ever before. And, while they keep their trucks rolling longer than before, owners continue to expect top reliability from their trucks and getting it. Says the J.D. Power Survey.

“The Ford Super Duty is a deserving winner in the Large Heavy-Duty Pickup segment, and it exemplifies outstanding dependability in the first three years of ownership,” said Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power.

In January, the 2024 Super Duty was named 2024 North American Truck of the Year by the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year jury.
