See Why Ram Just Won the Top Three Awards in a Texas Competition

The Ram 1500 and TRX just drove off with the top honors for Full-Size truck, Off-Road truck and Luxury truck at the Texas Truck Rodeo.

Ram drove home from the Texas Truck Rodeo with all the major awards in the pickup bed! Ram is always a strong contender, but this year was pretty much a clean sweep with the 2023 Ram 1500 winning the award for Full-Size Pickup Truck. The 2023 Ram 1500 TRX was selected as the top Off-Road Pickup Truck. The 2023 Ram 1500 was chosen as the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas for the eighth consecutive year and the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty Rebel is the top Heavy Duty Truck.

How the Winners Were Chosen

The Texas Truck Rodeo is an annual event held by the Texas Auto Writers Association. Members vote after a full day of on- and off-road vehicle evaluations. This year’s rodeo included  218 drives on the event route. Writers consider everything from exterior/interior styling and off-road capability to the truck’s overall utility, value and performance.

“Ram trucks brought their A-game again this year, winning several consecutive awards, including the Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas, and scoring the highest for overall personal appeal, which is significant because Texas is the truck capital of the US,” said Teia Collier, TAWA president. “We also enjoyed the lineup from the Jeep brand, with several vehicles that were the stars of their categories offering incredible performance, craftsmanship and capability.”

The Ram 1500 also was chosen as the truck with the Highest Personal Appeal.

Previous Texas Ram Awards

The is the sixth consecutive year that the Ram 1500 has won Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas. The Ram 1500 has been chosen as Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas for the eighth consecutive year. Ram’s Heavy Duty Rebel win in the Heavy Duty category means that Ram has taken the Heavy Duty crown for the seventh consecutive year.

TAWA

Founded in 1987, the Texas Auto Writers Association has grown to become one of the most recognized and reputable automotive media organizations in the industry. The selections carry a lot of weight because Texas is one of the largest truck markets in the country.

Everywhere you look in the Lone Star State you see a truck. Because it is such a vast area, truck owners often spend all day in their vehicles, using them as mobile offices. Comfort and connectivity are not just luxuries but necessities when drivers spend that much time in a vehicle. Trucks are often family vehicles as well.

Ram is known for being the most awarded light-duty truck in America. It has best-in-class rear leg room. It also has the highest owner loyalty of any half-ton pickup. The latest J.D. Power APEAL study, which rates the emotional bond between customers and their vehicles, named the 2023 Ram 1500 as the best full-size light-duty pickup.
