2016 Honda Civic Red Bull Global RallyCross Car coming to L.A.

In a bold move that may surprise those that don’t follow the ever evolving escapades of Honda Performance Development, and the race teams that power up with the assistance and support of Honda’s racing arm, American Honda puts its money where its mouth is.

According to Friday’s Honda News, American Honda Motors presents the 2016 Red Bull Global RallyCross finally, held in the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro,California, October 8-9.

What this means for 10th generation Honda Civic fans is an opportunity to catch the extremely modified 600 horsepower, 2 second 0 to 60 MPH, 2016 Honda Civic Coupe, run and jump what is arguably the most “hairball” combination dirt, asphalt and platform jump course in auto racing today.

The most extreme Honda Civic variant on the planet

Frankly, I couldn't tell you how modified this 2016 Honda Civic Coupe is. But, considering the forces that this coupe is put through on what is arguably the most radical short rally course racing that you’ll ever witness, what remains of the factory Civic, is most likely the body shell, or it’s likeness -- a lighting component or two, and the Honda brand proudly displayed on the 3 Civic Coupes participating in the Red Bull Global Rallycross series.
Civic_GRCThe first year for Honda has been a successful one

2016 marks the 6th year for Redbull GRC, and the first for Honda Civic. Earlier in the year Torque News reported on Honda Performance Development partnership with Sweden’s Olsberg MSE, a seasoned Global Rallycross team player. With race RallyCross champions Sebastian Eriksson, Joni Wiman, and recent commer Kevin Erickson at the wheel of the Civic Rally Coupe, anything can happen and it often does. Currently sitting in 6th, 7th and 15th place respectively, Honda power will finish midfield in an extremely competitive one-off competition like no other in racing today.
