Tesla Seriously Needs To Start Advertising Their Prices - A Model X Is NOT $130,000

Tesla prices are some of the lowest for an EV on the market today, and they seriously need to start advertising these prices.

Tesla Needs To Start Advertising Prices

From a recent video showing MKBHD talking about different EVs, something stood out in what he said. He said:

"If you made me pick one now, you're picking between R1S: $90 grand; Tesla Model X: $90 grand, and this, $50 to $75 grand for a Kia."

The striking thing was that he said it is $90 grand for a Tesla Model X, when in fact, this is not true.

Many others think a Model X starts at around $130,000 instead of the $79,990 for the dual-motor variant.

When you go to do a custom order for a Tesla Model X, you see the following two options:

* $79,990 for a Model X dual motor all-wheel drive
* $94,990 for a Model X plaid

The $79,990 Model X has 335 miles of range, 9 more than the plaid version, and the top speed is 149 mph for it and the plaid. The plaid edges out in acceleration at 2.5 seconds -vs- 3.8 seconds for the all-wheel drive variant.

Something like this is an important distinction because there really isn't much difference between these two vehicles.

Secondly, when ordering an all-wheel drive Model X, you get a $7,500 U.S. tax credit, taking the price down to $72,490.

Other Low Prices for Tesla Vehicles

This isn't the only vehicle that is a low price. A luxury EV SUV for $72,490 is a pretty good deal, but Tesla also has other vehicles at a very affordable price.

The Model 3 RWD, which is now a "Highland" version, starts at $38,990. This vehicle has 272 miles of range and LFP batteries.

There is also a long range variant, at 341 miles of range, that costs $47,740. Tesla has had to raise the price of this vehicle due to increased demand.

NEITHER of these vehicles gets a $7,500 U.S. tax credit!

Tesla's Model Y vehicles are also incredibly affordable. They come in three variants: a rear-wheel drive (RWD), a long range, and a performance.

The RWD variant is just $35,490 when factoring in the U.S. tax credit and comes with 260 miles of range.

The long range variant is just $40,490 after the U.S. tax credit - almost the price of a Model 3 RWD, and has 310 miles of range.

The performance variant is just $44,990 after the U.S. tax credit, with 285 miles of range.
