Elon Musk Wished "Speedy Recovery" By India Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal After Visiting Tesla Fremont Factory

Piyush Goyal recently visited Tesla's Fremont factory, saying he missed Mr. Elon Musk's magnetic presence and wished him a speedy recovery.

Elon Musk Wished "Speedy Recovery"

When I read the news that the India Minister of Commerce and Industry visited Fremont, California, I immediately thought this must mean there is progress being made on a Giga India.

Piyush was visiting Fremont and was delighted to see talented India engineers & finance professionals working at important and senior positions within Tesla, contributing to Tesla's remarkable journey of transforming mobility.

He also was happy and proud to see the growing importance of Auto component suppliers from India in the Tesla EV supply chain and on the way to double the components imports from India.

Then I read further into what Piyush Goyal said while visiting, and he said the following.

"Missed Mr. Elon Musk's Magnetic presence, and I wish him a speedy recovery."

Elon Musk replied to him shortly after and said.

"It was an honor to have you visit Tesla! My apologies for not being able to travel to California today, but I look forward to meeting at a future date."

I scanned the X.com thread of comments, and other people wondered the same thing - why was he wishing Elon Musk a speedy recovery. Hopefully someone can get an answer to that question and I wish Elon Musk a speedy recovery as well - from whatever is going on with him.

I often see Elon Musk posting on X.com in the late hours of the night at 3AM, so let's hope that he is getting the proper rest and taking care of his body.

The Purpose of Visiting Fremont and Giga India

This X.com post by Aryan Pandey, which you must take with a grain of salt, said that the India commerce minister will meet Tesla chief Elon Musk in the United States next week as the two sides look to enter the South Asian market.

Tesla potentially will join forces with India to enter Asian market

I'm skeptical of that statement because the timing just doesn't add up. Tesla can't sell the Model 3 in India - or any other car it currently has right now, but it MAY be able to sell the upcoming compact car for $25,000. Most cars in India are below that price point, however.

I do see Tesla and India working closely together, but it won't be until later in the decade at a point that Tesla prices have come down significantly and Tesla has a sub-compact car that is absurdly cheap.

I'm hoping that we will have a Giga India factory announcement next year sometime though - or by 2025 at the latest. It would be good to have everything ready and passing inspections and regulations so that when the time comes to build the sub-compact car, Tesla can hit the ground running.

It's good to see these two people working together, and I'm very much in favor of Tesla and India joining forces.

Let's hope that Elon Musk is OK and that whatever happened to him is of minor impact.
