Elon Musk To Stay On As Tesla CEO: He's Not Leaving

Elon Musk is not leaving Tesla, despite rumors to the contrary.

Elon Musk Not Leaving

This is one of many posts about Elon Musk leaving Twitter. Gene Munster predicted with a 70% chance that Elon Musk would leave Tesla and announce that at today's shareholder meeting. This was not the case.

Elon Musk is staying at Tesla and said so at the shareholder meeting today. The primary reason he is staying at Tesla is that Tesla is a leader in artificial intelligence with its FSD software and is also on the path to creating AGI (artificial general intelligence).

With these two important technologies, Elon Musk said that it is best that he remain at Tesla to help oversee the development of them and to make sure that things go as smoothly as possible.

Elon Musk has been very candid about artificial intelligence and the potential harm it can cause if it isn't developed carefully. This is the primary reason he is staying at Tesla. I also think that he wants to make sure Tesla reaches its goals, and I expect to see a new compensation package developed for him for the future.

How Long Will He Stay?

I believe Elon Musk is going to stay at Tesla at least another 3 to 5 years. This is the time it will take for Tesla to turn on their FSD software and to have Robotaxi vehicles on the roads driving themselves and making money.

Elon has spent quite a bit of time at Twitter as CEO, and that was definitely taking some time from Tesla. Fortunately, we have a new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, and she can take some of the burden away from Elon Musk.

Once Tesla FSD reaches level 4 and level 5 autonomy, Elon Musk won't need to be as involved in its development, as largely it will be an issue of training data and increasing the size of the models used to train it.

Elon will definitely be involved with the Tesla Humanoid Robot and its development, which is still in its early stages. Tesla is making progress there, but it's going to be a few years at least before a Tesla Bot can be purchased by a customer for personal or business use.
