Subaru Needs to Recruit This Impreza GT Driver for GRC [Video]

With Subaru getting ready to run their 2016 WRX STI Global Rallycross cars again this season, this driver needs to be recruited. [Video]

Watch the driver of this Subaru Impreza GT push it to the absolute limits. It’s a testament to the driver’s ability and also a statement of what Subaru cars can do on the track. With his wipers going full speed it looks like there might have been a light rain falling and the track is even wet as he’s driving the Impreza GT at its limit around the tight corners.

The drivers loses it around a corner, goes into the dirt and quickly corrects and brings the Impreza GT right back onto the track. It’s believed this video was shot at an amateur motorsports event somewhere in Poland. This Impreza GT looks to be around a 1998 vintage model and even appears to 100 percent stock. It makes it even more impressive what this driver gets out of the compact sedan.

If this guy is still around, Subaru Rally Team USA needs to locate him and recruit him to drive one of their 2016 Subaru WRX STI Global Rallycross cars this season. He definitely has the skills and isn’t afraid to push the Impreza to its limits on the track. Subaru needs a spark this season.

Bucky Lasek and Sverre Isachsen should be piloting the Subaru WRX STI GRC cars again. STI will provide technical support to SRT USA again this year as they compete in the Global Rallycross Championships. Subaru says the new 2016 STI GRC cars will be lighter, get improved rigidity and inertia moment optimization.

Last year, the drivers struggled and the cars experienced a multitude of mechanical issues. The 2016 Subaru WRX STI GRC cars have received improvements over last year’s cars and will get engine enhancements that Subaru says will prioritize reliability. Can Subaru compete with Ford and Volkswagen this year? Maybe this driver could help SRT USA.
