Kia first dedicated hybrid model, the 2017 Niro will soon be heading out to dealers. Before that happens, pricing details have been revealed.

A quick refresher on the Niro. This model utilizes a new platform dedicated to hybrid and electric vehicles. The powertrain is comprised of 1.6L four-cylinder and electric motor to deliver 146 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. A 1.56-kWh lithium-ion battery provides juice to the electric motor. A six-speed dual-clutch is the sole transmission.
The base Niro FE will begin at $23,785 (includes $895 destination charge). The list of standard equipment is quite generous with a backup camera, six-way power front seats, power windows, keyless entry, cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; and 16-inch alloy wheels. For only an additional $310, the Niro LX adds a smart key with push-button start, LED headlights, and roof rails.
Next up is the Niro EX which begins at $26,595. EX models add a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, heated power folding side mirrors, front fog lamps, and LED daytime running lights.
A special Launch Edition follows with a pricetag of $28,895. This trim is only available in two colors (Snow White Pearl or Aurora Black Pearl) along with a set of Hyper Grey 18-inch wheels. Standard features include a 10-way power driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system, and 8-speaker Harmon Kardon premium audio system.
The Touring wraps up the Niro lineup and adds a sunroof, front and rear park sensors, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a memory function for the driver's seat. Pricing is set at $30,545.
