The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is going away forever. Canada will get very few Lancer Evolution Final Editions.

Mitsubishi is sending out the Lancer Evolution with a 2015 Lancer Evolution Final Edition for performance enthusiasts around the globe. North America will get 1950 of these limited edition models with 1600 of them coming to U.S. shores. The first #0001 of the 1600 has already arrived in the U.S. and Canada will only get 350 of the Final Edition models. Australia gets even less with just 150 examples being shipped down under.

Known in rally racing as the EVO, the rally-bred sedan is bowing out of the performance car market as Mitsubishi focusses on their Outlander SUV and PHEV vehicles around the globe. EVO doesn’t fit in their future plans and Evolution will be a nameplate for the brand that will look very different. Mitsubishi executives say the 2015 Lancer Evolution Final Edition performance model will be last of its kind when the last one rolls off the assembly line in Japan.

Canadians will get a chance to buy one of the last Final Edition EVOs that will get a bump in horsepower over the standard models. Final Editions will come with 303 horsepower (up from 291) and 305 lb ft of torque (up from 300) produced by the 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC engine. It comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Now in its 10th generation, the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition goes on sale this month across Canada. Built upon the well-appointed GSR Premium, only 350 units of the Evolution Final Edition will be available at an MSRP of $49,498 (Canadian). They will likely go quickly.
