Renew Your Newspaper To Win a VW Tiguan

Apparently newspapers sales are stronger in other countries because a Singapore newspaper is giving a Volkswagen Tiguan to encourage one lucky subscriber to renew or purchase a new subscription. In the United States, it’s amazing if your newspaper gives you a free pizza for renewing your subscription and they need our business.

The Straits Times in Singapore, in conjunction with Volkswagen Group Singapore, is giving away the Tiguan, a compact crossover built on the Volkswagen Golf platform. It’s a capable little vehicle that apparently enjoys some popularity in Singapore.

Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer, managing director of Volkswagen Group Singapore, said in a news release about the contest, “The Tiguan is very well received in Singapore and certainly we hope that sales of the [Strait Times] will be as successful as the sales of the Tiguan.” He added that the tie-up should continue in the years to come. Straits Times editor Han Fook Kwang, added, “We've been partnering (with) Volkswagen for some years now and I like to think it's a natural tie-up because we're both quality products with strong brand names.”
