MotoCzysz Powers Jeep Like SUV

MotoCzysz has taunted us with some impressive concepts in the past and after a few successful years winning races, emerges with a its own drivetrain that can power an electric car.

Moto… who? MotoCzysz. MotoCzysz has done a lot for the world of the electric motorcycle. From racing to taunting us with superb looking prototypes, the group has been furthering the EV cause. Active on the TT Zero scene and the Isle of Man TT, the unstoppable group now has a neat electric drive powertrain that can power a car. Its D1g1tal Dr1ve D1 is hailed as the world's first fully integrated electric drive system to power the cars of tomorrow.

Technically Speaking. The D1g1tal Dr1ve D1 is rated at a continuous power output of 60kW and peak power output of 75kW. Its continuous torque output is 600-850 N-m and in peak torque 800-1150. Using a brushless DC permanent magnet electric motor powered the MotoCzysz E1pc motorcycle in two race wins and two track records in 2010. The E1pc also did very well at the Isle of Mann TT. This is making this same technology powering the MotoCzysz E1pc to over 163mph during land speed trials at The Bonneville Salt Flats.

Not only happy with great racing results, the company is now turning its eyes on electric cars. This is MotoCzysz's answer to those of you who don’t want to hunt down every single components to build your electric car. The D1g1tal Dr1ve D1 is the group’s powertrain package for builders looking for a plug-and-play electric solution. The tight package revolves around a Remy liquid-cooled electric motor, with inverter, cooling system, differential and miscellaneous electronics enclosed in an aluminum box. All you need to do is hook the motor to your battery of choice, then close the water loop and tidy up the wiring harness. Simple, no?

TAC eSpark EV. The small SUV is none other than Brazilian manufacturer TAC Motors. The D1g1tal Dr1ve will convert the Spark TAC into a nimble electric car called the eSpark with plans for production some time next year.

This MotoCzysz solution makes more sense then at first sight. Many would be electric car converters have a hard time deciding on which components to integrate into their ideal electric drivetrain. By reaching out to car manufacturers, much as other EV builders have done such as Tesla Motors and Daimler and Toyota, MotoCzysz is jumping into the soon to be lucrative world of electric power train drive. In many ways, the D1g1tal Dr1ve D1 is the ideal one stop shop solution for those who don’t have time building an EV from scratch. And in the meantime, we can only hope MotoCzysz will make it available soon.
