The Hertz Corporation (NYSE: HTZ) is beginning a large promotion called "Working for the Weekend" where they have a “Spin to Win” game for free weekend car rentals and a grand prize of a car giveaway. They are calling it the “Working for the Weekend” promotion through October 26, 2011.

Hertz will be giving United States customers the opportunity to enter a giveaway sweepstake to possibly win one of three grand prize car giveaways and the choices are great. Winners can go home with a choice between a Dodge Challenger, a Jeep Wrangler or a Chrysler 200 convertible. Hertz’s 'Spin to Win' game gives U.S. customers a chance to spin a wheel and see if they win a variety of two and three day weekend car rentals.

Hertz’s mascot, Horatio will be present to help with the excitement of this giveaway event. The game “Spin to Win” will emphasize how easily accessible Hertz is from airports and in cities and neighborhoods.

Hertz is not just offering free weekend giveaways; however, they are also offering special offers and deals as well. Select airport locations throughout the country will be giving away scratch off cards that give customers the opportunity to win nice discounts and upgrades on their next Hertz rental.

It’s easy to participate in Hertz’s “Working for the Weekend” promotion. All United States customers (this includes those who visit from out of the country) have to do is go to www.hertzweekend.com and complete an entry form. Once they do this, they will receive a single entry into the Sweepstakes and also one “Spin to Win” game play for each day of the promotion. At the end of the promotion, three entrants will be randomly selected to win the Grand Prize of a new car; however, the “Spin to Win” game is played as soon as the customer is entered into the contest.

Hertz is thrilled to be bringing these free giveaways to U.S. consumers. It gives an opportunity to promote the Hertz name and share Hertz’s enthusiasm for tourist and those just wanting to enjoy their weekends. Hertz had a similar promotion in the springtime, and due to its success, Hertz is bringing back the promotion for fall.

In a press release, Mark P. Frissora, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for The Hertz Corporation made this statement: “Our spring Weekend Getaway contest was incredibly popular, with more than 500,000 consumers visiting the site and we wanted to do something similar for people traveling this fall. Throughout the country, autumn is a popular drive season. With our 'Working for the Weekend' sweepstakes, we're giving customers the opportunity to go from work to weekend instantaneously with free weekend giveaways while also giving three lucky entrants the opportunity to win a new car."
