General Motors plans on lending its support this year to Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a new pink-colored Chevy Camaro SS.

This year, Chevrolet has designed a specially themed Camaro SS Pace car to lead NASCAR's best drivers at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in the AdvoCare 500 this Sunday, live at 7:30pm EST on ESPN television.

The AdvoCare 500 is one of the top events of the entire NASCAR season! This year, NASCAR's best drivers take on Atlanta Motor Speedway under the lights, in the AdvoCare 500! The leading car is decorated in pink with the AdvoCare 500 logo on the doors, the Chevrolet logo on the roof, the Camaro name on the front window and the Breast Cancer Awareness pink bow on the hood. What a beautiful leader for the other cars to follow and what a beautiful act of support from the makers of General Motors for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) (also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)) is an annual event. It is a world-wide, international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October. The event is meant to help to increase awareness of the deadly disease and to help raise funds from many different charity events held all over, for research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure for breast cancer. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer, whether the patient with cancer or a loved one to someone who has this type of cancer.

We give thanks to Chevrolet for providing a platform for Breast Cancer Awareness and for being a great reminder to women to have yearly mammograms for early breast cancer detection. Chevrolet has committed themselves to contributing to the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness by sharing this brightly pink colored Camaro as the leader in the NASCAR AdvoCare 500 event in Atlanta.

A picture of the pink Chevrolet Camaro SS has been posted on the Facebook page for Chevy Camaro and it has already received 10,257 people who have “liked” the picture. The support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month is overwhelming and people from all over are coming out to show support for the cause. The comments under the picture of the Camero are extremely positive and uplifting and we hope the NASCAR AdvoCare 500 event is a very successful, safe and exciting one for NASCAR fans.

GM just announced that Chevrolet is donating $200 to the American Cancer Society for each caution lap this specially-themed pink Camaro SS pace car runs in the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
