AMSOIL Inc. today introduced its new OE 15W-40 synthetic diesel oil to its family of lubricants for vehicles.

The 15W-40 diesel oil, a low-sulfated ash formation that meets the requirements for low-emission quality diesel oil while offering protection under the most severe operating conditions, delivers excellent performance and protection in both on- and off-road diesel engines, said Ed Newman, a spokesman for the Superior, Wisc.-based company.

The synthetic oil is compatible with all exhaust-treatment devices and is designed for powerplants that have diesel particulate filters.

The impact of a vehicle using this oil is a cleaner engine operation, Newman said, that results in maintaining power and fuel efficiency for maximum engine performance.

The new oil also does well in extreme temperatures in that it is formulated for improved heat and oxidation resistance when compared with conventional oils.

AMSOIL 15W-40, which started selling on the Internet today for $6.60 per quart, features a low burn-off rate. The result is less consumption and fewer emissions during operation.

Even when temperatures are hot, the 15W-40 maintains exceptional film strength while providing protection, performance and fuel efficiency. Its premium synthetic base stock and a robust detergent additive package combine to give vehicles solid protection and performance in diesel applications.

The oil is recommended for diesel engines requiring these specifications and should be changed at intervals as recommended by the manufacturer of the vehicle, as provided in the owner's manual:
