2016 Camaro Colors: 10 Exterior, 5 Interior and 1 Glowing Bowtie

The order guide for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has surfaced online and among the many pages of information are the official colors for the 6th gen Camaro – with 10 exterior paint options, 5 interior color options and a Chevy Bowtie badge that I think will light up.

General Motors has been pretty open about the features of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, so when the dealership order guide for the 6th gen muscle car surfaced online, there isn’t a whole lot of information included that we didn’t already know. The order guide confirmed some rumors and provided fine details on some of the various packages – all of which we will discuss here in the coming days – but today we are focusing on the color options for the 2016 Camaro.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro at launch will come in 10 exterior colors and there are 5 different interior color packages. There are also two different optional Chevy Bowtie badges that buyers can pick, including one that sounds like it will light up – and that is awesome.

10 Exterior Colors
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be offered with 10 exterior colors when it goes on sale in August. Standard colors include Blue Velvet Metallic, Red Hot, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Black, and Hyper Blue Metallic while Bright Yellow, Garnet Red Tintcoat, and Mosaic Black Metallic are available for an additional charge.

From that list, Blue Velvet Metallic, Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Black, and Bright Yellow are available on the 2015 Camaro. Nightfall Gray Metallic is likely replacing Ashen Gray Metallic and Garnet Red Tintcoat is likely replacing Crystal Red Tintcoat. Both Mosaic Black Metallic and Hyper Blue Metallic are new for 2016.

Sadly, there are no orange or green hues for the 2016 Camaro, at least not on the initial run, but 10 exterior colors is a nice spread for the beginning of the 6th gen Camaro.

5 Interior Packages
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro at launch will be available with 5 different interior color packages, including a couple bright color packages that are generally reserved for a later model year run – showing GM’s desire to offer a great deal of customization with the 6th gen Camaro right from the start.

First up, Jet Black and Medium Ash Gray are available on all trimlines of the 2016 Camaro and with any exterior color and Kalahari is available with all colors except for Bright Yellow. These are the three packages that I would have expected to see available at launch, but the next two are the surprises.

If you order your 2016 Camaro with the Convenience and Lighting Package, you can order the Ceramic White interior package, which includes bright white seat centers and door panels, along with bright white stitching throughout the cabin. Also, if you get your 2016 Camaro with the Convenience and Light Package and either Red Hot, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Black, Garnet Red Tintcoat, or Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint, you can also pick the Adrenaline Red interior package, which adds red seat surfaces, red door panels and red stitching throughout the cabin.

3 Chevy Bowtie Badges
While the details are limited in this area, it looks as though the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will come with three different Bowtie badges on the grille. In all of the official GM images, the 6th gen Camaro had a gold Bowtie on the grille, so we can guess that the “normal” gold badge is standard. However, in the order guide, there is an optional black Bowtie package that replaces both the front and rear badges, also putting a black Bowtie on the trunk lid.

Also, if you like the gold Bowtie but you want a little more dazzle from your new Camaro, you can opt for the illuminated Bowtie package. Details are limited on this one, so it is unclear whether it glows from behind like some aftermarket badges or if the actual face lights up, but a light-up Chevy emblem sounds like an awesome factory option – one that should prove to be very popular if it isn’t priced outrageously.

If the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro really is set to go on sale to the public on August 13th, it shouldn’t be long before we get the full digs on the 6th gen Camaro. In the meantime, we will continue to pick through the fine print of the dealership order guide, bringing you any interesting bits of information that we find along the way.

They all should be coming from the factory with the "flow tie" just like the current Z/28... the benefit was quantified, it would benefit the entire lineup, and we wouldn't have to look at that stupid gold color eyesore on our sports cars anymore...

What a shame....no orange ..again. These colors are boring and repetitive . Every single year Wow! You won't even give a customer the color they want if it's in the same room. It's really disgraceful how you have treated and continue to treat your new car buyers !!!! It's tiresome talking to you folks at Chevrolet !!! You should all feel wonderful about yourselves !!!!!!
