In just under 3 days, we will know everything that there is to know about the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 but in the meantime, we have a gorgeous rendering of what the most track capable Corvette of all time might look like when it is revealed in Detroit.

When General Motors announced that they would unveil the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit’s Cobo Hall, all they gave us in terms of imagery was a brief teaser that showed the front wheel, the bottom of the front fender behind the front wheel, part of the driver’s door and part of the side sills. It didn’t show us much but it showed enough to really spark our interest. For the folks at TopSpeed, that sole teaser proved to be a solid basis for a very good rendering of the 2015 Corvette Z06 as shown above.

While some of you are undoubtedly saying to yourself “that doesn’t look aggressive enough to be the most track capable Corvette of all time”, keep in mind that the Z06 has never been a particularly showy car. While the Big Daddy ZR1 might have the flashy see-through hood and accentuated styling, form has always followed function with the Z06 and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case with the C7 Z06. The minds at TopSpeed felt the same way as the rendering shown here looks a great deal like the 2015 Stingray but it is packed with subtle changes that could make much bigger differences in terms of performance.

Along the front end, this 2015 Corvette Z06 wears a carbon fiber front splitter under the same basic fascia as is found on the Stingray. This feature is almost guaranteed although the actual version could be a little bigger and a little more aggressive. Along the sides, we see the contrasting fender vent seen in the official GM teaser joined by the familiar Z06 badging with a carbon fiber side skirt that was also in the teaser running the length of the wheelbase. Unique to the TopSpeed rendering is a vent that flares out in front of the rear wheel which could help channel cooling air to the rear brakes while also lessening air turbulence at high speed around the wheel openings. Finally, this 2015 Z06 sports a black contrasting rear spoiler that is fairly low profile but something like this is far more likely than a large wing attached to the C7’s sexy rear end.

One area that has not been touched on in the TopSpeed rendering of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the hood. This image shows a car that wears the same hood design as the 2014 and 2015 Corvette Stingray but I somewhat expect something different for the Z06. GM loved showing off the supercharged LS9 via a clear panel in the hood of the C6 ZR1 and while Im not sure that GM will go that far with the C7 Z06 - I expect at least some minor changes in the hood of the most track capable Corvette ever.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will debut on Monday January 13th around 10am and you can be sure to find everything that there is to know about the C7 Z06 right here on TorqueNews.com.
