The IIHS has announced the results of their new headlight ratings test for the top trucks in the US market and the Ford F150, the Ram 1500, the Chevrolet Silverado, the Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan all did fairly poorly in the test – making you wonder how seriously a test can be taken when almost every vehicle in a popular segment fails the test.

We know that there is a Hellcat Hemi-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee on the way in the next year or so and we expect that it will be called the Trackhawk, but before the Ram Rebel TRX Concept we had never seen a Hellcat in anything other than a rear-drive car – leading me to believe that the Hellcat Ram Concept is intended to tease the Hellcat Jeep.

Germany is trying to outlaw all diesels by 2030. Could that type of action in the European Union take hold in America? Would they ever legislate the demise of popular trucks, like this Ecodiesel that was voted Rocky Mountain Truck of the Year in 2015?

He wants to put a bed cover on it immediately. “I think I only need an 'entry level' cover and I have been looking at the TonnoPro Soft Tri-Fold cover. Are there any "Beware" stories about ANY covers? Things to watch out for, etc?”

FCA announced this morning that the incredible Ram Rebel TRX Concept will debut at the 2016 Texas State Fair with Hellcat Hemi power – although this monster performance truck doesn’t pack the same big power as the Hellcat-powered Dodge Challenger and Charger.

FCA, Honda American and Land Rover NA will all be recalling vehicles to address a wiring issue with the 9-speed ZF automatic transmission after the transmission supplier itself announced a recall of a component in some 505,000 vehicles.

While there is no sign of FCA planning to build a Ram pickup with the supercharged Hellcat Hemi, a dealership in Ontario, Canada has built a Hellcat-powered pickup truck for one of their customers – complete with 707 horsepower, four wheel drive and a unique body upgrades.

There are some reports floating around the internet which suggest that the 2017 Ram 1500 will feature the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 and while the idea of a 707hp pickup is an alluring one – these reports of such a vehicle coming for the 2017 model year are completely unfounded nonsense made up by clickbait sites.

The Ram 1500 Rebel is the newest Moparized vehicle, joining the Dodge Challenger, the Dodge Charger, the Dodge Dart and the Chrysler 300 on the list of vehicles given the factory upgrade treatment, but as has been the case in the past – the Mopar 16 Ram will be limited to just 500 units.

This past Friday, the Chrysler Group teased a few of the vehicles that they are bringing to SEMA and while we were enamored with the prospect of an all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger – there were also teasers of what appear to be the Chrysler 300, the Ram 1500 Rebel and a Fiat 500X which will join the AWD muscle car in the huge Mopar display.

The Chrysler Group has recalled around 1.4 million vehicles as a result of a problem with their vehicle software that may allow a hacker to access the control system, but poor reporting by most large media outlets have turned this problem from a simple fix for a questionably troublesome issue into what seems to many to be a massive risk to the general public.
