The Fiat 500L Urban Surf Party slated for 5 US cities

The first Fiat 500L Urban Surf Party kicked off the gala introduction of the 500L last Friday in Miami and the fun will continue as the svelte new model continues its celebratory procession to five more US cities.

The Urban Surf Parties will continue through the summer into early fall with fetes at the Santa Monica Pier in L.A (8/15), Wave House in San Diego (8/17), in Chicago at the World Paddle Challenge at North Avenue Beach (8/24-25), San Francisco at Ocean Beach (10/5) and in New York at the Surf Film Festival (10/15).

"The Fiat 500L Urban Surf Party is one of the many exciting ways to celebrate the launch of the 500L here in the US," said Jason Stoicevich, Head of FIAT Brand North America. "Partnering with Grind Media gives us the opportunity to create an enticing and creative experience that showcases the new Fiat 500L in a truly unforgettable setting."

The parties could easily inspire the next take on the Zombie myth with the Silent DJ approach to the music.

Silent Frisco is a cutting-edge San Francisco-based technology firm that provides partygoers a pair of custom designed wireless headphones – so they can kick out the jams at whatever decibel level desired from a gentle whisper to a brainwave-cancelling audio onslaught – sometimes referred to as Zombie mode.

This allows one to make the scene without being heard – by the neighbors at least!

We’re not sure how this affects conversation or the never-ending youthful process of hooking up, but it seems you can even choose from the DJs across the entire tour, so you and that person you’re ogling may be breaking it down to the beat of an entirely different drummer, so to speak.

That can frequently be the case anyway though, can’t it?

The two common elements seem to be the all-new Fiat 500L and an original Day in the Life video that highlights local Fiat aficionados driving the 500L during their daily regimen.

We’re not even sure how this serves to sell cars, but can only assume the attendees associate the something new and unique aspects of the party with the similar attributes of the new Fiat.

Everyone is invited and the whole thing is free. For more information visit grindtv.com/fiat-urban-surf-party/.
