‘The Rock’ Continues Ford Ways With New Truck, An F-150 Raptor R

For an automaker having a fan like "The Rock" is a real feather in its cap. With "The Rock," Ford has a whole quiver.

If you have seen Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest movie “Black Adam” you might think that the former pro wrestler and current movie star can fly around and float to a sudden stop. Now, it is impossible to know whether really Johnson flies; it is more likely that the flying is a feat of cinematic legerdemain that involves harnesses and all sorts of wires and such that are skillfully hidden from view by creative filmmakers.

‘The Rock’ Is A Huge Fan Of Ford Trucks

Who is to know how this happens unless you work on a film like this. What we do know about “The Rock” is that he is a huge fan of the Blue Oval and has bought its products for a long time. Indeed, he is known Johson has been a supporter of Ford products for years.

According to a story from The Ford Authority (TFA), an independent site of news and information about the Blue Oval, “The Rock” has driven Ford cars and trucks. As you might imagine, Johnson’s taste in cars runs to the Ford GT. Although – and this is purely speculation – this might have something to do with him playing a major role in the last several of the high-octane “Fast and Furious” franchise. He plays a lawman who, at first, is out to get Dom Toretto and company for their many transgressions. Through a number of films, while he still plays a lawman, Johnson’s character begins to work closely with Toretto to take down a number of bad guys.

In each of the “Fast and Furious” films, the focal point of each plot in the films is the fast cars and lives of the characters. An interesting point here, according to TFA, is what happened to “The Rock’s” GT.  A solid supporter of veterans, “The Rock” gifted his Mustang GT to a wounded Iraqi war vet who had received the Purple Heart.

Johnson Is Generous With Ford Rides

Johnson is generous with his Ford rides. In 2021, He gave his Raptor R to a vet. He also gave his stunt double an F-150 pickup.

Meanwhile, he has expressed an interest in getting a Bronco Raptor and he has also said he is thinking of purchasing a the F-150 Lightning, Ford’s popular electric pickup. As you can see, “The Rock” is a Ford fan all the way.

Indeed, he just obtained the latest addition to his Ford collection from a Los Angeles dealer. The new truck is an F-150 Raptor R. To say he is a Ford fan is putting it mildly. According to TFA, the only trucks “The Rock” drives are Fords.

In fact, he had a special message for the Ford team that builds his rides. His message said:

‘The Rock’ Has A Message For Ford ‘Family’

“This message is a very special message,” Johnson said. “I’m sending this one out to my family, or as we say in the islands, my Ohana – and that is the Ford family. Starting with all the blue-collar heroes in Dearborn, Michigan. Many of you, I’ve had the pleasure of shaking your hand, grease and all. I just want to say thank you, thank you for all the hard work you put into creating vehicles like this for me and people around the world.”

This is a great kudo from “The Rock.” Ford’s president Jim Farley is quite happy to have a fan like Johnson.
