GM CEO Mary Barra and Elon Musk Texting In EV Partnership

Mary Barra, CEO of GM, and Elon Musk text each other in their work together in an EV partnership that opens Tesla Superchargers to GM.

GM Partnering With Tesla GM Ceo, Mary Barra is working with an EV partnership with Elon Musk. Mary Bara says that GM customers now have access to double the EV chargers from 13,000 to now 26,000 with the partnership with Tesla. Mary Barra went on to say that she wishes there were more partnerships between companies. GM has also partnered with Ford in the past for transmissions. They've also partnered with Honda. Mary saw this as an opportunity for General Motors, seeing that they would save $400 million dollars. That's quite a bit of money. No one company has all the answers or solutions, although Tesla is doing pretty good in my view and companies are wise to partner with them. Elon Musk doesn't call up Elon Musk, but instead, Mary and Elon Musk text each other and have met on a handful of occasions. You may also be interested in:

Mary Barra and Elon Musk Working Together Mary Barra went on to say that autonomous vehicles are a big part of the future and that the biggest cost of an autonomous vehicle is the driver. She's right about that. The big question is will Cruise be able to compete with Tesla FSD? The thing about Tesla FSD is that it continues to grow with Tesla's fleet. If I were Mary Barra, I would make my vehicles have the exact same camera setup as Tesla so that in the future, they could take advantage of Tesla's FSD software and instead of rolling my own software in house, I would simply use Tesla's software and turn it on with all the vehicles that have the cameras. Of course, there may be issues that stop this from happening, legal or otherwise, but without any major barriers to it, I wonder why no other companies are building their cars and making them ready to license Tesla's FSD software. It could be that they fear it may never work or that Tesla will charge too much money for it. I think Tesla could simply take a 20% cut of ride-sharing profits from the usage of their software and that would be just fine. Regardless, it's good to see GM partnering with Tesla and companies working together. This, I believe, is for the good of the future because Tesla gets more users of its Superchargers and GM gets more happy EV owners able to charge at more places.
