U.S. News & World Report says the 2017 Subaru Outback is tops in its category again this year and cite its outstanding room for both passengers and cargo, all-wheel drive capability, safety and reliability, and for its user-friendly multimedia system. To choose the award winners, U.S. News & World Report looked at 211 new 2017 model year cars, SUVs, and minivans. They looked at professional automotive reviews, safety and reliability ratings, seating and cargo volume, and the availability of family-friendly features to pick the winners. Within each category, the vehicle with the highest composite score is named the Best Car for Families. Outback comes out on top of two popular European models, the Golf SportWagen and more expensive Allroad wagon.

Not the only award for Outback

Outback was also just recently named Kelly Blue Book’s “12 Best Family Cars” 2017. They gave four reasons why it’s a standout among family vehicles. KBB says the Outback wagon’s all-wheel-drive, fuel efficiency, safety technology and resale value all contribute to its impressive credentials.

The 2017 Subaru Outback has been gaining popularity in the U.S. and is now Subaru of America’s top-selling vehicle in their lineup just ahead of the popular Forester SUV. Wagons have not been particularly popular with American consumers, but Outback is the exception with families and urban-adventurers. Its go-anywhere attitude, roomy interior, cargo carrying ability, reliability, and user-friendly multimedia system are the reasons why it’s named U.S. News & World Report’s Best Cars for Families.
