J.D. Power and Associates has conducted its Initial Quality Study (IQS) now for 21 years. The study was redesigned to make it more relevant in 2006. The study is important because it measure the number of problems reported by new owners aft they have owned their new cars for 90 days. During that period most problems that the vehicles left the plant with are revealed.
