Mazda's Unique Way Of Offering Assistance To Those In Need

Mazda's Drive to 100 program puts vehicles in the hands of those that need them most.

A ride to work. Something most of us take for granted is sometimes out of reach for those who have a chance at employment but no practical way to get there. The Mazda Drive to 100 is a partnership between the Mazda Northeast Region and Vehicles For Change (VFC). The program provides refurbished vehicles to families in need of personal transportation to gain or maintain employment. VFC receives 99 percent of its car donations from the public. Since 1999, VFC has awarded more than 6,000 cars to low-income families, changing the lives of more than 20,000 people.

Having just completed the first year of the partnership, Mazda's Northeast dealers provided VFC a total of 230 vehicles, 37 of which were awarded to families in need across the East Coast. The test drive and other events hosted by Mazda's dealers also raised over $4,000 for VFC.

“We are very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with our partners and dealerships
at Mazda,” said VFC President Marty Schwartz. “We have positively impacted the lives of 37
low-income families and we look forward to growing our partnership to serve more in 2017.”

For a limited time, Mazda is offering $500 toward the purchase of a new Mazda at participating Mazda dealerships to anyone who donates a vehicle to VFC and brings their donation receipt to their Mazda dealership.
