2011 Chevrolet Corvette is top holiday value

KBB Picks Top Ten Holiday Values with 2011 Chevrolet Corvette at Number One

'Tis the season for all types of lists of Top 10, which helps explain how the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette has been named the number one holiday value, according to a list compiled by Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com.

TorqueNews has the KBB Top Ten Holiday Values list in the correct order as published on the KBB article. A press release sent out by the organization incorrectly places the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette as number 10 on the list. We took the extra step to straighten the information out for you.

"Playing Santa this year is easy if you want to gift a full-size truck," says Alec Gutierrez, senior market analyst, pricing and automotive insights, Kelley Blue Book. "With gas prices remaining relatively low, manufacturers have a lot of excess inventory in the truck segment and are offering great deals between now and the end of the year."

Gutierrez, though, doesn't explain why the Corvette is such a good deal. Veterans of the new car business will tell you it's because of the time of year. Sports cars are seasonal products with their best sales coming in the spring and summer when enthusiasts can get out and drive them. It takes a disciplined purchaser to buy a Corvette in Chicago in December.

One thing to keep in mind when perusing this list: it references specific models within a lineup. You may get a great deal on a new car but have to forego amenities you would normal want included like leather seats. Value does mean sacrifice. KBB.com also includes information about finance rates and lease deals. All information is current as of Dec. 12, 2011.
