New 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Packages Join the East Coast/West Coast Battle

General Motors has announced that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will be offered with the sexy Pacific and Atlantic packages that debuted at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas – bringing a high performance look to the 2015 Stingray Coupe and a high end luxury look to the 2015 Stingray Convertible.

Across many different industries in the US there has long been a battle between the east coast and the west coast– from horse racing to gangsta rap – so with a bit of obvious humor on my part, the introduction of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Atlantic Convertible and the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Pacific Coupe jump into the east coast/west coast fray with two very different flavors. Each of these cars debuted late last year at the 2013 SEMA Show and after a positive reception by both the media and the general public; the company has decided to bring these cars to showrooms in limited numbers.

"One of the design goals for the Corvette Stingray was to provide customers with the flexibility to tailor the car to their personality," said Kirk Bennion, Corvette exterior design manager. "The Atlantic and Pacific Design Packages were originally designed to showcase how the Stingray could be configured as a luxury sport GT car or as a high-performance motorsport car."

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Atlantic Convertible (shown below in silver) was “inspired by the luxury and performance of private jets seen at European vacation destinations”. This package is available only on 2015 Stingray Convertibles fitted with the Z51 package and either the 2LT or 3LT trimlines. In addition to all of the goodies that come standard on the 2015 Corvette Convertible with the Z51 package and either the mid range 2LT or top of the line 3LT trim, the Atlantic package adds a Z06 style front splitter, Shark Gray exterior vents, Shark Gray hood "stinger" graphic, Shark Gray tonneau inserts, chrome Torque wheels with Stingray center caps, Stingray underhood liner, Stingray floor mats, custom splash guards, a custom rear license plate frame and unique logo valve stem caps. The Atlantic package also comes with custom luggage for those owners who do plan to do some jet-setting off to Europe in the aforementioned private jets. Buyers of this package can opt for any of the exterior colors for the 2015 Stingray convertible.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Pacific Coupe (shown at the top, in red) is designed for the weekend racer of the west coast and, like the Atlantic Convertible, the Pacific Coupe is available only with the Z51 package and either 2LT or 3LT trimlines. Offered in only Torch Red, Black, Arctic White, Blade Silver and Shark Gray, the Pacific Coupe features satin black full-length racing stripes, satin black Z51 wheels with a red stripe and Stingray center caps, a carbon fiber ground effects package, a visible carbon fiber roof panel, a Carbon Flash Metallic rear spoiler, Carbon Flash Metallic outside mirrors, Carbon Flash Metallic exterior badges, red brake calipers, the awesome Competition Sport Seats in red or black, carbon fiber interior trim, Stingray sill plates, Stingray floor mats, custom splash guards and a custom rear license plate frame. This package doesn’t come with the luggage, but it does come with a unique car cover – presumably to keep the sand from the beach air off of the car overnight.

There are no performance upgrades for these packages, but like all of the 2015 Corvettes, buyers can select either the 7-speed manual transmission or the new 8-speed automatic.

"We plan to make news with the Corvette Stingray every year, in part by offering special-edition models that offer a unique, personal ownership experience," said Todd Christensen, Corvette marketing manager. "Our customers have told us they appreciate these limited-edition models, which have become an important part of the Corvette's legacy."

General Motors has not announced the pricing for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Atlantic Convertible or Pacific Coupe, but they are expected to arrive in showrooms later this year when the rest of the 2015 Corvette lineup hits the streets. It is unclear just how limited the numbers for these new models will be or if the packages will be available all over the country, but there is no question that these great looking appearance packages spice up the already gorgeous C7 Corvette.
