How love for cars and Chevy Camaro helped this man with Lime's Disease to fight on

I thought I'd never drive again after I came down with Lyme's Disease and complications from a brain infection writes Anthony Rove from McAlester, Oklahoma sharing the story of his 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS. He has been doing custom work to his cars for 30 years and his cars have always been a big part of who is his. "People might not remember my name but they always remember my cars," Tony says.

Here is how Tony describes his car.

Every panel of this 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS except the roof has some sort of modification done to it. It is all about the small details that make a car unique and wanted.

When did you buy it ?
My wife bought me the car for Valentines day.

In what condition was it before and what modifications did you to this Camaro SS?
The car was bone stock when I got it. I love classic cars and wanted to blend the old and the new. The first thing I did to my 2012 Chevy Camaro SS was adding pin stripes and rally stripes. I had some experience with vinyl so I did it myself. Hines Performance was advertising for there new "Hex" vents and I liked the way they looked and functioned so I was one of the first to have them. Added the retro 69 side vents next. Sent away for some TSW Max black wheels and added the red pinstripe.

Here's a full list of mods:
I have done all the mod's myself, even the graphics and pin-striping. Pypes "Bomb" exhaust, CAI cold air induction, Eibach pro springs, Hines Performance HEX vents, GM Strut Tower Brace, Defenderworx chrome running light bezel replacements, TSW MAX black wheel's, Hankook Ventus ST 275/40/20 on all corners, Havok rear spoiler, Havok rear diffuser, Retro U.S.A. 69 side vents, Scott Drake ~ Bow tie delete, retro Super Sport hood badge, Di Noc Carbon fiber rally stripes and front and rear Di Noc black outs, custom red DIM1 pin stripes/wheel stripes/cluster,Oracle mail box scanner.

Any interesting particular story associated with the car?
I had pretty much given up on love and life living with Lyme's Disease. My love of cars and customizing was the only thing that kept me going and gave me a reason to fight on.

Would you like to add few words about you?
For almost 20 years I worked for a major airline and traveled all over the world. Today I live in a small town, McAlester, Oklahoma

Is there anything else you would like to add about your car?
Build your dream one part at a time. I did.
