What new Infiniti SUV should you avoid? According to an updated analysis from Consumer Reports, the 2024 Infiniti QX50 is the least liked new model in owner surveys. A whopping 75% of Infiniti owners say they would not buy this SUV again.

Consumer Reports says, “Unfortunately, every year, there are models from automakers who talk a big game but can’t deliver the goods.” The 2024 Infiniti QX50 tops the list of the least-liked models.

How Does CR Determine The Worst New Models?

CR analyzed data from its latest member survey to measure the current state of vehicle owner satisfaction. The owner satisfaction score—based on whether owners say they would definitely buy the same car again if given the choice—measures whether a car has lived up to expectations.

Infiniti QX50 Is The Worst Of The Worst

The Infiniti QX50 only has 25 percent of customers who would purchase the car again if they had to do it all over again.

I have listed the ten models that are the least satisfying model list according to CR’s owner surveys. Here is the percentage of owners who would buy the exact vehicle again. You may also want to avoid these models.

  • Nissan Altima: 48% Would Buy Again
  • Volkswagen Jetta: 47%

  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class: 46%
  • Kia Seltos: 45%

The 2024 Infiniti QX50 SUV

  • Price Range:  $41,000 - $58,050
  • CR MPG:  Overall 22 / City 15 / Hwy 29 mpg
  • #10 of 25  Luxury compact SUVs

The predicted overall owner satisfaction for the Infiniti QX50 is only 1/5 in the recent Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey. This is the lowest rating of any new model from Consumer Reports owner surveys.

Why Are Owners Saying I Would Not Buy This Vehicle Again?

When someone buys a more expensive luxury model, they expect more. Owners are saying the Infiniti QX50 is disappointing in two critical areas. The Comfort factory for owners is very low at 53/100. The Value factor is even lower at 41/100.

CR says, “Despite our warnings to approach the least-satisfying models with caution, a new crop of owners purchase these cars, SUVs, and trucks each year, only to realize how truly disappointing they are.”

You have been warned if you purchase one of these least satisfying new models. The 2024 Infiniti QX50 is the worst according to owners surveyed by CR. 75% of owners say they would not buy this SUV again, and Consumer Reports says, neither should you.

I mistakenly bought a 2023 QX50. The car is great except for the CVT. You cannot drive this car smoothly. The transmission 'shifts' just as the engine reaches peak torque to a higher 'gear' where there is much less torque. This results in a very unusual feeling that the engine has power then the engine has no power. So you press the accelerator a bit harder and the engine surges and 'shifts' to a different a lower 'gear'. All this on a continuously variable unit. I have no idea why the Infiniti engineers had to give a CVT 8 different 'gears'. My Subaru Forester has a CVT and is always smooth and predictable.
I spent $58,000 on this car and am looking forward to getting rid of it soon.
