Audi is a German carmaker that makes various types of vehicles ranging from supermini to crossover SUVs. It maintains its worldwide headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Audi produces luxury automobiles and is the number one luxury brand in the world. Their other products include sedans, coupes, compacts and sport models. They are a majority owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen group.

According to the story, the automaker has continued to sell the turbodiesels even though it has known the vehicles are illegal and they were selling them and continued to market the vehicles even as the Dieselgate scandal was breaking.

Audi has recalled nearly 49,000 2012-2014 A6 and A7 models to fix a fuel line problem. According to the automaker, the fuel lines in the affected vehicles are compressed at a point that could lead to their failure and a fuel leak. In turn, the fuel leak can pose a fire threat.
