Tesla is one of the most well known names in the modern day automotive industry. It is the leading automotive manufacturer for battery powered cars. Yes, that means zero gasoline usage. It is without question that the evil genius behind this company, Elon Musk, has done anything except the abnormal. Their brand released their first car in 2008 and today in 2020 it is one of the most popular and practical options you can get on the market. Tesla’s have entered the market from the top down as they are quickly on their way to meet the $20,000 to $30,000 price mark, but their most popular models are $35,000 and above.

The brand is most noted by their quirky leader, their long range capabilities under one singular charge, their surprising performance aspects, and their cutting edge technology. Currently, the Model S holds the record for the longest range on one charge which was 370 miles, but Elon claims 400 miles is coming soon and also claims that the coming soon 2nd gen Tesla Roadster will not only be the fastest production car, but it will also have a range of 620 miles which is absurd.

The Current Tesla Lineup

  • Teslas Model 3 ————————————— Starting MSRP $35,000
  • Tesla Model S ————————————— Starting MSRP $75,000
  • Tesla Model X ————————————— Starting MSRP $81,000
  • Tesla Model Y ————————————— Starting MSRP $52,990

Tesla Merger With Daimler Would Be Like Elon Musk Dragging a 50-lb Rock Behind Him Wherever He Goes

Several days ago Karlsruhe Insider's analysts made a forecast that Tesla Daimler merger is upcoming and that Tesla will swallow Mercedes-Benz's parent company Daimler "without asking." In this article I am taking a look why it's not a good idea for Tesla to merge with Daimler, based on the comments from Torque News Youtube subscribers.

VW is the closest to catching Tesla, but it isn’t alone

My best friend, whose first car (a 1985 VW Jetta) was my first aspirational vehicle, had me over to speak with his parents. While chatting with them about their next vehicle purchase, they said something provocative: “what if I don’t want a plug-in vehicle?” As a plug-in vehicle enthusiast, it is a question that is hard to hear but also an obvious indicator of the profound change the act of plugging into an electrical outlet, instead of a gas pump, represents in people’s lives. Change is hard!

GM and Ford are not likely to beat Tesla in U.S. EV sales by 2025

The race is on! Multiple manufacturers are vying to beat or compete with Tesla in terms of EV market share in the U.S. As I discussed in a previous article, that is going to be very hard to accomplish. Let’s look at sales forecasts and ambitions from the two other U.S. automakers, GM and Ford, through the end of the decade to break this down a bit.

How Electric Vehicle Manufacturers Are Vying for The Lead in U.S. Market

Everyone should know electric vehicles are rapidly taking more market share from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. But which manufacturers will lead the way in EV sales? The answer varies by region, of course, and much depends on the global supply chain, geo-political landscapes, the rippling impacts of the pandemic, etc. I will focus on the U.S. market since there should be rapid acceleration in U.S. EV sales, soon.

Tesla Model Y Outsells Most Popular Luxury SUVs In China

Tesla Model Y is crushing the competition in China’s high-end SUV market, with the BEV crossover model having sold 23,117 units in November, a very good number indeed in the world´s biggest electric car market. This basically placed the Model Y outselling Audi Q5 and BMW X3, two very popular luxury SUVs that normally sell well in the Chinese market.

Daily driving comparison: Kia Sorento PHEV vs Tesla Model 3

I own both a 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV and a 2018 Tesla Model 3 RWD LR EV. Besides the obvious form factor, performance and handling differences between the Tesla sports sedan and the upmarket, 6 passenger Kia SUV, what differences are worth pointing out between these two vehicles in their day to day driving experience?
