Nissan boosts corporate commitment to environment

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced Nissan Green Program 2016, a new six-year environmental plan (NGP 2016). This new plan will focus on reducing the company’s carbon footprint, implementing a shift to renewable energy and increasing the diversity of resources used in production. This will include committing 70 percent of the annual research and advanced engineering budget to environmental technologies.

Nissan Unveils New Generation XTRONIC CVT

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled its new generation XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) for 2.0 to 3.5-liter engines and a new Hybrid System for front-wheel drive vehicles. Both developments represent important steps towards Nissan's stated goal of improving the fuel economy and environmental performance of internal-combustion vehicles.
