Mazda partners with ESPN International to broadcast USF2000 & Star Mazda around the world

Mazda has teamed up with ESPN International to allow racing fans around the world to follow their favorite race car drivers and teams a better viewing experience with a total of 13 hours of racing scheduled to be broadcast in 2012, for the Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.

Mazda recalls 52,390 Tribute SUVs over brake fluid leaks

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Mazda have announced a recall of the 2001 and 2002 Mazda Tribute compact sport utility vehicle over a concern that the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder could leak – leading to corrosion of essential braking system components and possibly causing a fire in the worst case situations.

New Mazda plant in Mexico to make Mazda2, Mazda3 in 2014

Mazda broke ground this month on a new auto plant in Mexico. The joint venture between the Japanese carmaker and Sumitomo Corp. creates the newly formed Mazda Motor Manufacturing de Mexico S.A. de C.V. Plant workers will assemble the Mazda2 and Mazda3 for Central American and South American markets beginning in 2014.

Drunken driver walks away and out of jail after freak crashes

A drunken Canadian driver of a Mazda6 survived even though he crashed into six other vehicles as he crossed several lanes of traffic in the city of Winnipeg on Tuesday. When his car came to a stop, police in Winnipeg arrested him, and later released him. Two people were hurt. All seven drivers survived the mayhem.

Mazda thrives as sales of one car zoom 196% entering 2012

Gasping economies in the United States and Mexico aren't afflicting Mazda, which for now has the world by the tail as it gears up for an even more prosperous 2012. This is because its 2011 sales figures are through the roof in both countries and continue to accelerate. One car's sales jumped almost 200% last month.

The Ford Mustang plant could be in trouble

Since the introduction of the S197 platform Ford Mustang in 2005, the legendary pony car has been built at the Auto Alliance plant which Ford shares with Mazda but with the news that Mazda is planning to move out in the near future, some analysts believe that the Mustang alone does not move enough units to keep the Flat Rock production facility up and running.
