1,001hp at EyesOn Design: the 2007 Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4

While the EyesOn Design show is more about cutting edge styling and the exterior designs that help to shape the trends of the automotive industry, at the 2011 EyesOn Design show Ken Lingenfelter has brought out his 2007 Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 – one of the fastest cars in the world.

When most people talk about the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4, the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that it uses a 16 cylinder engine with 4 turbochargers to churn out 1,001 horsepower to all four wheels. When introduced, the Veyron was the undisputed fastest production car in the world and although the power output is amazing, what is even more amazing is that fact that this road-going, street legal machine is capable of eclipsing the 250 mile per hour mark in full street trim (253.52mph to be exact).

Every inch of 2007 Bugatti Veyron has been designed to provide unparalleled aerodynamics to allow this hyper car to reach its 253mph top speed but while there are lots of cars in the world capable of reaching these speeds – few of them are street legal and none of them look as good as the Veyron. It should be kept in mind that with a sticker price around $1.7 million US dollars, it is not only one of the fastest cars in the world but it must also be one of the most luxurious; inside and out. This is a car that just oozes charisma and even if you didn’t know that it had a 1,001 horsepower W16 engine tucked between the rear quarter panels, it is very clear that this car is made to go very, very fast. However, Bugatti was able to design the exterior to offer unique, stunning lines without compromising one ounce of aerodynamic perfection and the result is one of the most amazing cars in the history of the automobile industry.

The pictures in the gallery below off a look at the 2007 Bugatti Veyron from a couple different angles but there is just something about this car that cannot be captured in images. It is as though the car lets off a certain energy...like it has its own gravity that just draws people to behold its greatness. This was the third time that I’ve had a chance to photograph Mr. Lingenfelter’s Bugatti Veyron and I believe that it is the fifth Veyron I have seen in person – and I can never get enough of the car that helped to up the ante from “super car” to “hyper car”.

While this is just one of many gorgeous vehicles that will be featured this Sunday at the EyesOn Design car show at the Edsel Ford Mansion – as the one of the fastest, one of the most powerful and one of the most unique automobiles of all time – it should definitely garner its share of attentions at this year’s show.
