These Are The Top Rated Winter Tires For The Toyota RAV4

We researched the best winter tires for the Toyota RAV4 and found these models at the top.

Winter is coming. Although the Toyota RAV4 is a great snow vehicle when equipped with AWD, the extra drive wheels don't help you turn or stop. Winter tires do. We looked at Tire Rack's customer reviews to find the two best models of winter tires for the top-selling RAV4. Here is what we found:

Best Overall Winter Tire For RAV4
The Blizzak DM-V2 is rated a 9.5 in winter driving. One RAV4 owner was prompted to say in a review, "The traction and braking on unplowed (we have a looooong hilly driveway which we do not plow in Connecticut) and untreated roads is really outstanding. It is night and day from out OEM all season tires. I am very impressed with this product."

Torque News has tested this very tire on both a Subaru Forester and Toyota Highlander and we were very impressed by its overall performance as well as snow and ice. At about $124 the tires are basically free, since they give your 3-season tires a rest while they work.

Best Long-Lasting Winter Tire For RAV4
Those looking for a little more life in a winter tire may look to the Michelin Latitude X-Ice X12. One RAV4 owner ran them past the 30K miles mark and then wrote this: "I ran them through last summer and come fall the still had legal tread, so I tried them in our first snow storm. They STILL had decent traction, even on ice, so I ran them through the winter. The rears are now starting to wear through the last of the siping, so I will put my Conti all seasons on soon. We had our last storm in late February, so I tested them in the snow. Not bad for tires that are almost worn out."

My Toyota Rav4 reigns in cold Finland. This winter it had to have new rubbers. Here we use mostly studded tyres because ice. I ended up picking up these. They are toping all charts here in nordics and are more affordable. I am satisfied so far. They feel really grippy and quiet.

I’m trying the new toyo Celsius tires. They are all season with a focus on winter conditions. Haven’t seen snow yet with them but the dry and heavy rain traction beat my last 2 sets on my rav already.
