Your 2013-2016 Honda Accord may be subject to latest component recall

Thousands of components, hundreds of part suppliers, the modern engineering wonder that is the car, while good, is man made and subject to flaws. Is your 2013 through 2016 Honda Accord impacted by the latest round of safety related component recall?

According to USA Today and other credible news sources, Honda is recalling, depending on the news source, 1.5 to 2.1 million Honda Accord automobiles world-wide. The problem at hand is a car battery monitor that has reportedly caught on fire in 4 cars to date worldwide, Once again, as with the Takata airbag debacle, the culprit here is moisture and heat intrusion due to the (possible) improper weather sealing of the battery system component, more likely than not manufactured by an independent parts supplier. No official launch date or time-line announced for Honda Accord recall

Torque News has a call into Honda’s Chris Martin, but suspects that confirmation of the Accord recall will come to us Monday morning. Undoubtedly, when your specific vin # is entered into Honda’s recall center and confirmed as included in this recall action, your Accord will be repaired at no cost -- this should be a relatively quick fix once Honda ramps up the required component supply line. You will find Honda’s recall hotline here.

Owners included in the latest Accord recall will be notified by mail. It’s further noted that Honda service centers will make interim, temporary safeguard repairs, as required, prior to replacement component availability.

I read a comment where one lady on Facebok wrote this. "I call bogus. It's a sales pitch. Honda knows the 10th gen is ugly so they had to make the 9th gen dangerous. Just a thought." What do you think?

Why would a company make their previous model look bad on purpose if anything it would hurt sales for the newer models?

Would Honda set fire hazards as a sales pitch for Accords? I don't think so. But as I read one guy comment "VW lied pretty good so ehh, you never know."
