Listen to the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang Roar (Video)

This morning, the Ford Performance YouTube page posted the best video we have seen thus far of the new Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang, giving us our first chance to really hear the roar of the flat plane V8 when it is being pushed towards its limits.

This new video isn’t the first official piece showing the new Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang in action, nor is it the first time that we have heard the exhaust tone of the new 5.2L flat plane V8. There have been other videos showing the next generation Shelby Mustang in action, but there was music playing over those clips and we didn’t get to hear the engine for more than a few seconds. There have also been videos of the Shelby moving around at the various auto shows, but those sound clips were typically caught at low engine RPM. This new video lets us hear the new V8 at high RPMs as the Shelby GT350 Mustang rips around a road course.

Unique Power, Unique Sound
This new Ford Performance video is titled “Unique Power, Unique Sound”, so you can expect that it will be chock full of sound clips of the new Shelby GT350 Mustang. There is still music playing in the background and Ford Lead Test Driver Gene Martindale discusses the car throughout the video, but pretty much any time that the video is showing the new GT350 – we can hear the new 5.2L flat plane V8.

Throughout the video, Martindale talks about the new engine, what makes it different and why is it a better design, but for those of you who, like me, love hearing the roar of a high performance engine in action – the discussion is really just background noise.

We get to hear the new Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang in a variety of on-track settings, so we get to hear the 5.2L V8 at various points in its powerband. From coming out of a turn and building RPM to rocketing down a straightaway at high RPM, this video really is the best I have seen of the new GT350. We get to see the highest performance S550 Mustang in action and we get to hear the 5.2L V8 at full volume so crank up your speakers and enjoy!

This is one seriously nice machine...........great modern engineering technology is now making its hey day and lauching these stellar high performers cars into the stratospher. I severely love my 2014 Shelby SVT GT-500 (unbelievable torque and horsepower) and welcome its normally aspirated new brother.
