Toyota Camry SE Sport Limited Edition coming to showrooms

The exclusive package will enter showrooms this weekend and be available only until November 12 in custom colors and premium packaging.

The 2012 Camry SE Sport Limited Edition is being produced exclusively at the company's Kentucky plant. Production will run until November 12, at which time this Limited Edition will no longer be available.

The Camry SE Sport Limited Edition is based on the well-proven mid-sized Camry sedan with an efficient four-cylinder engine. A top-fit package including 18-inch alloy wheels with a smoked finish, 8-way power seating, a power sunroof, and Display Audio 6.1-inch touch screen with Navigation and EntuneTM are included.

Along with several standard colors, the exclusive Blizzard Pearl White will not be available until September 12. Production of Attitude Black and Barcelona Red began August 6 and runs until production end on November 12. These limited models come in black or black/ash interior.

For the past week, this writer has test driven a 2012 Camry Hybrid provided by Toyota with all of these fittings (save the exclusive wheels and colors) and found it to be an excellent entry in the mid-sized category. Handling in the Hybrid is cushy and comfortable while the SE Sport has a more fun feel, so this Limited Edition will likely be a sportier drive.

With its redesign for the 2012 model year, the Camry was given major restyling both inside and out. The car has a much more refined, contemporary look, but kept its three well-proven power plants while adding electro-hydraulic steering assist to reduce engine load and improve efficiency. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard and the SE models include paddle shifters and dual exhaust.

MSRP for the exclusive Camry SE Sport Limited Edition begins at $26,790 with destination fees. The base Camry model starts at $22,850 with destination.
