The crew responsible for extracting all of the historic American performance cars from the sinkhole under the National Corvette Museum was hard at work today – this time removing the black 1962 Chevrolet Corvette which was perched precariously along the side of the hole in the Earth with a 10,000lb slab of concrete pressed against the front end.

After removing the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil Prototype from the National Corvette Museum sinkhole this morning, the crew spent the afternoon successfully lifting the 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Edition Chevrolet Corvette out of the hole as well – although the damage to this classic Corvette is far too bad for it to drive away from the scene.

Finally the people at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky had some good news today as the first of the historic Corvettes to be swallowed by the sinkhole has been exacted – marking the start of a careful auto-archeological dig that is expected to take several weeks.
