New bi-fuel system allows propane to burn in diesel engines

Icom North America, a pioneer in alternate fuel systems, is taking the economy and environmental benefits of a liquid-injection propane system to diesel-powered vehicles this year. The company's new JTG-Dynamic System, revealed at a recent National Propane Gas Association convention in Atlanta, enables vehicles to run on either diesel fuel or a 50/50 mixture of liquid-injected propane and diesel fuel.

Choice of car color reflects region, nationality

A study of car color preferences performed by Ford revealed, despite the availability of bright, vibrant colors, U.S. customers on both coasts and buyers in most European countries prefer the core classic colors – white, black, silver and gray. Gray and silver are most popular in New York and Los Angeles. San Franciscans are partial to white and Bostonians prefer black.

Ford recently unveiled the refreshed 2013 Ford Taurus at the 2011 New York International Auto Show and with the new Police Interceptor based on the Taurus coming around 2013, it comes as no surprise that the new cop car will wear the refreshed look rather than the style displayed on the previously-shown Ford Police Interceptor sedan.

Nissan recalls 196,000 SUVs over rust risks

In early February, we brought you the news of an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of a group of Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4 sport utility vehicles and based on that investigation, Nissan is recalling almost 196,000 vehicles to address suspension and steering issues stemming from excessive rust.

Electricity comes to Texas: eVgo charging stations

Mazda announces 40 mpg Mazda3 with Skyactiv, Mazda CX-5 crossover, diesel at New York Auto Show

Mazda breaks new ground with in fuel economy with the new 2012 Mazda Mazda3 that will get 40 miles per gallon with a new technology called Skyactiv. Skyactiv will also be applied to the Mazda CX-5, a future smaller crossover, and will help define Mazda's future designs. Mazda made the announcement at the New York Auto show, also releasing plans for diesel in the U.S.
