Sweden - Unless you live under a rock, it has become common knowledge in the automotive world that Saab is in very bad shape but it appears that the dieing Swedish automaker has been saved by their would-be Chinese investment partner Youngman Lotus with a cash influx of around $5 million - with more money slated to shift from Youngman’s account to Saab’s in the coming weeks.

Nissan and FedEx team up to test fleet of electric NV200s in London

Nissan and FedEx, the mail delivery company, have teamed up to test a fleet of Nissan NV200's, which will be zero-emission all-electric vehicles (EV), on the streets of London. The fleet will be used to evaluate how the Nissan NV200 prototype electric vehicles perform in the daily grind of normal traffic.

U.S. and E.U. want quieter cars for different reasons

The European Commission just last Friday adopted a proposal reducing the noise that can legally be produced by cars, vans, buses, coaches, light and heavy trucks by some 25 percent over five years. Last July the NHTSA began writing regulations for how much noise electric cars must make. Still a quick search of “car noise regulations” shows a lot of noise over loud car stereos in the U.S.
