Report says Audi still selling illegal turbodiesels in Germany; recall ordered

Audi has been selling illegal luxury models in Germany a report in the tabloid newspaper Bild says. According to the story, the automaker has continued to sell the turbodiesels even though it has known the vehicles are illegal and they were selling them and continued to market the vehicles even as the Dieselgate scandal was breaking.

Volkswagen turns it around from emissions loser to award winner; record-setter

A couple of years ago, things looked pretty bleak for Volkswagen. Beset on all sides by consumers, regulators and stockholders because of its cheating on emissions, the automaker was forced to stop selling its turbodiesel (TDI) models until fixes were found and it was also forced to pay billions in settlements. VW did the right things, pulling in its belt and admitting the problem, while promising fixes; it delivered, too. Now, things have turned around and VW has gone from loser to award-winner.

Europe unlikely to see the newly introduced VW Jetta

According to some rather broad hints in the press information, Volkswagen has no plans to sell the newly introduced Jetta in Europe. The reason is size. Since the new Jetta is nearly the same size as the Passat, introduced last year, it makes little sense for the automaker to sell a new model that would only cannabalize sales from an established line.
