Honda facing possible venomous spider recall similar to Mazda

Last week, Mazda offered some interesting news as they issued a recall due to spiders crawling into the evaporative canister vent lines and causing excessive fuel tank pressure and now, Honda Motor Company has announced a technical service bulletin for a similar problem on select Honda Accord models.

Volkswagen recalls Routan minivans for ignition problem

Last week, Chrysler announced that they were recalling almost a quarter million Dodge and Chrysler minivans for an ignition problem that could cause stalling and now the Volkswagen Routan – a minivan built by Chrysler for VW – is being recalled for the same problem.

Japanese Tsunami and Earthquake Impact Automotive Production

The 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan and caused ensuing Tsunamis across the Pacific is impacting automotive operations for Nissan and Toyota. Suzuki appears to have been spared major damage but sadly a Honda employee was killed.

Ford and the feds continue to discuss F150 airbag recall

Late last month, Ford Motor Company announced a recall of around 150,000 units of the Ford F150 pickup over a concern of airbags deploying on their own but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reportedly wants Ford to recall a great deal more, spurring a congressional hearing on the matter.

Anti-collision technology to become standard in more vehicles

The cost of anti-collision technology is getting cheaper thanks to a new microcontroller from Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. according to R. Colin Johnson, writing for EETimes.com. Toyota marks 3 million hybrids sold globally
