New Stratos Performance Specs Revealed; 0-60 MPH in Just 3.3 Seconds

Italian sports cars are always some of the best. Not because they last long, because we all know they don’t, but because of their beauty and the passion that they are built with.

Look at the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione for a perfect example of this Italian engineering. This machine is stunning to behold and could very well be one of the most gorgeous machines ever made. Yet, as a driver’s car, the Alfa leaves a lot to be desired. That can't be said for vehicles like the Lexus LFA. It might not look good, but it sure is fast.

The new Stratos might have solved this issue for the Italians, as it not only looks like a proper machine, but it also goes like stink. The chassis is aluminum and comes from the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. This means that it has a 4/56 front/rear weight distribution ratio and a 4.3-liter V8, tuned to pump out 540 horsepower, up from the 508 horses from the Ferrari.

All that power and the lightweight chassis equal one fast ride. Stomp on the accelerator and the new Stratos will hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds and can keep going until 170 miles per hour. Only time will tell on how it will take corners, as that was one of the old Stratos’s best attributes, but based on those power numbers, one can be sure that this new model is no slouch.
